I need to send emails from an application which deals with
course/training information. If a session is cancelled, all the students
enrolled need to be contacted regarding the cancellation (or room
reassignment, etc).
My users are running MS Outlook (not Outlook Express) and I have been
trying to use SimpleMapi, but have run into troubles when users do not
have their Outlook client setup properly (default not set to PlanText)
and when email is sent out... everyone received a winmail.dat file.
From what I understand, I cannot set the message format type from
SimpleMAPI.
I looked into extended MAPI... but I thought it really was *more* than I
need. My users do not mind if Outlook is brought up to do the actual
sending... they actually prefer this because it gives them the option of
adding additional people, etc.
And I have to admit that I do not know anything about CDO to know if
this is actually an option or not...
Can anyone provide me push in the right direction????
