Hallo Delphi community,
Someone would like to stop people just casually copying an application around without paying for it.
This application is activated via the web or telephonically and is inexpensive.
One can for example try to identify an unique computer by the MAC address or by the CPU serial number.
I was told that the MAC address can be problematic because of multiple addresses on modern computers and not all CPU's serial numbers are reported.
The idea is not to find a high level of protection, but just a reliable method that does not cause difficulty for the honest customer using Windows 2000 to Windows 7.
Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
Thanks & regards
Eric
